Please Explain New Forums Badges

@Staff,

Hi.  I’ve noticed some changes here in the forums.  Specifically, the badges have been undergoing some evolutionary changes.  Now, you might still be changing them, and you might be going to post a blog about this, but if not, please explain to us the meaning of the new badge layout:

Mine is listed above.  From top to bottom, I see:

  • Username - Clear.  I understand this.
  • Activity Identifier - Seems to indicate how many posts I’ve made. I’m guessing, but at 1000 posts I become a ‘Corona Geek’ right?
  • Avatar/Picture - Clear. I understand this.
  • Posts Count - Clear. I understand this.
  • License Level - I understand in principle what this is, but I’m having trouble with the many variations I’m seeing.

Activity Identifiers

Please list the different levels and the number of posts required for each.  

License Levels

Thus far for ‘license level’, I’ve seen:

  • Starter
  • Basic
  • Pro
  • Enterprise
  • Corona Staff
  • Corona SDK - What license level is this?
  • Are there going to be more?

I ask this because I use the badge info to help me gauge the kind of answer I should give and what details I may need to explain (or not).

Well the activity indicator is just changing a badge after you pass certain thresholds.  The previous levels were too compressed.  I don’t remember the exact values, it it wasn’t much effort to get to be a Jedi.

We are still tweaking the system, but the new levels are (# of post based):

Observer   0

Fan            30

Contributor  100

Corona Geek 1000

And of course there will be a few others like Moderator for most of the staff.

As for the license level question, I’ll have to investigate this.

Oh come on, back to Padawan level? :slight_smile:

Just to give a further post level: I am Enthusiast with currently 70 posts.

Fan has been renamed to Enthusiast.   René, just 28 more to go to the next level!
