Please help . . .

I know this is a silly question but how do I get corona to stop
spamming me with emails for every post created? on “My Account”
I already uncheck all the settings where it ask you if you want
email notification ect and I unsubscribed to all the post also.

The only thing left to do but I was not sure is when I receive a email
from corona it ask me if I want to unsubscribe and gives me a link
but when I click a link it says if I unsubscribe the action can`t be
redone or something like that. Is this what I need to do or this will
remove my subscription (will it cancel my subscription the money I
payed corona to build apps?) or it will unsubscribe me from spam
email?

Also do I download latest Daily Builds or all of them to have latest
fix? I`m just confused if latest Daily Build has all the previous
Daily Builds fixes or need to download all of them to have all the
fixes?

Thanks in advance I hope I made sense, sorry I`m new to Corona
been using trial for 2months and just recently became a registered
member. [import]uid: 30314 topic_id: 8171 reply_id: 308171[/import]

I’m going to start by saying that Corona is not spamming you.

When you subscribe to a thread, YOU are opting in to get updates on said thread. Corona is not responsible for your choices/actions in regards to which threads you do and do not subscribe to.

Now that’s out of the way, click the link you talked about and then click unsubscribe - it’s for the thread, just like the email says.

You are NOT unsubscribing from Corona - you are just changing which threads YOU subscribed to. (Again, I stress that YOU subscribed to these threads and it is not spam, which you state again in your second paragraph.)

RE daily builds, only the latest need be downloaded as far as I am aware.

I hope this helps and that you can appreciate why someone who loves Corona might have a small issue with you subscribing to threads then calling it spam when you receive the notification you, yourself, subscribed to.

When you subscribe to a thread, YOU are opting in to get updates on said thread.

Well to be fair the default setting on this forum is opt-out of updates, not opt-in.

This actually reminds me, I should turn off the automatic subscriptions setting on my account. For a few weeks when I first started using Corona that was convenient, but now it’s just this daily event where I delete a dozen unread updates.

Of course now I have to manually subscribe to threads, and so I just looked and noticed the Subscribe link at the bottom of the first post. Man that’s kinda tucked away, maybe it should be a more prominent button at the top of the thread. [import]uid: 12108 topic_id: 8171 reply_id: 29157[/import]

@ peach

Thank`s for help I was a bit confuse if I un-subscribe from the
email link If I will lose the corona subscription (payed one)
but I guess this clears it up, regarding daily build I had a feeling
you need to only download latest one but wanted be 100% sure.

That being said I dont remember subscribing to any threads, forums, topics ect . . . like I mention above I clear all my settings in "My Account" so I dont get notifications or any email regarding
a post.

So if I never subscribed to anything beside buying corona sdk
and when I log my email I had over 300 corona emails and continue
getting emails every few minutes I don`t really think it matters what
you call it (SPAM) or corona being responsible for my action and again
my actions in this case is buying corona.Maybe corona automatically
subscribes you when you buy their product? Or maybe is a default
setting?

Again hopefully this helps anyone who maybe ran into same problem as
me or was confused like I was I will try un-subscription link and hopefully
this takes care of my email problem.

Thank You for your responses and help!

@jhocking - Default or not, it’s not spam. People know they are subscribing and they, assuming they are computer literate, know how to manage their subscriptions. I know it might be a bit annoying to get the right settings, but there are options.

@kurosaki88 - I am subscribed to more than 40 threads and I have it set so that the most frequently I get an email update is around every 6 hours, I believe. Never more than one every few hours, anyway, despite threads being updated far more regularly than that.

Your action is posting in the thread; it subscribes you, but you can manage your subscriptions and you can choose how often you receive email updates.

Calling it spam is still not appropriate; sorry, but that’s just how it is. I’d be pissed if someone who was subscribed to my blog comments, for example, called those notifications spam.

Change your settings or unsubscribe to threads - that will fix it.

Are you sure you saved your changes? Unchecking the settings under My Account is what you want, so maybe you forgot to click Save. [import]uid: 12108 topic_id: 8171 reply_id: 29175[/import]

@ Jhocking

Yea, im sure I saved it and uncheck all boxes I think it automatically
subscribed me to threads when I bought corona sdk because never
have I subscribed to threads and forums or any post but it seem
when I got over 400 emails if I click on anyone and unsubscribed
that did the trick, Thanks again for your responses

@ Peach

Thanks again for your help and Like I told Jhocking unsubscribing
from email link did work and seem to have fix the issue, but I dont see why all jumpy for calling something a spam. IMO if I did not subscribed to something and it sends me over 400 emails and every couple of minutes I keep getting more and more and I NEVER subscribed then yes is a SPAM or w/e you want to call it, its still annoying. Anyhow
I took care of the problem and I appreciate your help. [import]uid: 30314 topic_id: 8171 reply_id: 29278[/import]
