plugin.zip - uncompress callback takes a long time to fire?

I’ve been using the zip plugin to uncompress some zipped up json files and have noticed that it takes a fairly long time for the callback listener function to fire considering the size of these json files are pretty small.  The zipped up size of one of these files is around 20kb, and the unzipped size is ~200kb. Based on system.getTimer time markers, it’s taking around 1000ms from start to finish.  The files show up unzipped almost immediately, so if I do a manual poll for the unzipped file it comes back really fast.

Can someone from Corona explain the delay and maybe look to see if it’s a bug?

Thanks!

Kenric

@Rob any update on this?

It’s been assigned to an engineer but it’s still in the list of things to be worked on.
