PonyTile and Composer example code?

So far I’ve got a prototype of 3 composer scenes.  A simple splash screen (scene), a simple Title screen (also a scene), and a Game Level (also a scene) that consists of a “UI” D-pad and a simple hero character that I can move around the screen.  No physics yet.

I tried to employ PonyTiled per the instructions on its GitHub which seems to not like TileSets.  It seems it only “draws” the first tile in the TileSet and that’s before giving up.

So my questions are these:

  1.  Does PonyTiled like TileSets or must it be a collection of objects/images like the video tutorials employ?

  2.  Can someone throw together a minimal example of a combination of PonyTiled and Composer?  I’ve tried various ways of adding the PonyTiled objects to the composer sceneGroup and no change in results.

I don’t have a minimal non-working code set as I’ve abandoned PonyTiled (FOR NOW) to try out Dusk.  But it’s eating my brain because PonyTiled seems so elegant.  But Dusk being made by a 16 year old 10 times smarter than me is so interesting I have to try it out too!

I’m sorry in advance if my post breaks the best practices model.  I’m also thankful in advance for any input you can provide!

I don’t think this quite counts as an answer to the question, but I did end up using Dusk as an alternative Tiled Render/Parser.
