possible problem with installation setup

i went to download Corona-2017.3135.msi and once i did it was scanned by Norton then deleted on the basis of having the problem WS.Reputation.1, has this happened to anyone else? I’m assuming its just a false-positive and there is nothing wrong with the installation setup but i just wanted to double check

Hi  @jdon and welcome to our community forums.  Is there more information about what files are being flagged?  There seems to be a lot of frustration in the Norton community over the WS.Reputation.1 category. It seems to be a catch-all for files it’s not familiar with.  I’ll be sure to bring this up with our engineers.

We do know a couple of other AV programs flag a DLL from a metrics company that we use to track builds and such. They don’t like it because it could be used to report information without telling you (It’s in our published privacy policy).   If you can provide more details about what Norton is un-happy about, it would be great.

Thanks

Rob

Hi @Rob Miracle, It does not specify a particular file from the Corona setup has been flagged but the entire setup file itself has been considered untrustworthy

Thanks, jdon

Try downloading a later daily build, like 3157 and see if it’s still flagging it. We reported it as a false positive.
