Preview: SPIN UP, A Pseudo-3D Action Game

Hi everyone,
As I am wrapping up my first Corona game, I would like to share here and get your opinion.

The game is called Spin Up, and it’s sort of a retro-pseudo-3d action game.

Game’s website has screnshots and a gameplay video teaser:

…and a few quick screenshots here:

EDIT: Screenshots have been updated.
Ideally, I would like to invite a few testers to try it out. Detailed feedback is not necessary, just looking for general impression about how you feel about the game, and especially how difficult you find it. I want to fine tune difficulty progression before I wrap up and submit, and I need as much feedback as I can get.

EDIT: I forgot to originally mention that Spin Up will be an iPad only game. I would still encourage fellow testers to try it out on iPhone and see if it is playable, depending on this feedback I might deide to release it to iPhone too.

Thanks a bunch

This looks really interesting - how are you doing beta tests? Test Flight?

Thanks, Peach!
Unfortunately I’m stuck with the old-school “send me your UDID” testing. Haven’t gotten around TestFlight yet, tried it out briefly the other day and I found it confusing. I’ll try to dedicate more time to TestFlight these days, meanwhile, anyone can send me UDIDs ( iPad and iPhone 4+ ) to my email at info at no-sheet dot com.
Thanks again

That’s a freakin’ cool game, I’d love to test that game. Sending my UDID later if you want another tester.

TestFlight is super easy once you get the hang of it.

Looking forward to test it.
Cheers

Glad I watched the video, screenshots don’t do it justice at all. Very clever stuff. [import]uid: 93133 topic_id: 21520 reply_id: 85197[/import]

Thanks, Lano! You’re very welcome to give it a try.
I set up a TestFlight account, and I think this is the link that you can use to join:

Still frustrated by TestFlight confusing terminology ( for example, what are “teammates”, just fellow developers or testers too ?!), but I hope I can find my way around.

In a case this doesn’t get to work quickly, UDIDs are always welcome

Nick, this is great feedback! Really appreciated, working on other set of screencaps!
Thanks a bunch

Super cool.

Yes!

When I read your above post I was ready to go dig up my UDID but TestFlight is much easier.

Looking forward to checking out the beta

PS - New screenshots look sweet. [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 21520 reply_id: 85274[/import]

Thanks everyone!
I will be uploading new beta version to TestFlight probably tomorrow !
And then the final release - probably end of February, depending on your feedback

Your game looks super cool! Good luck on your release.

Btw, correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe if you use TestFlight you still need the UUIDs of each tester’s device. [import]uid: 9422 topic_id: 21520 reply_id: 85310[/import]

Thanks, Xenon  Actually testers submit their UDIDs to TestFlight when signing up, but as far as I understand of course I still have to add them to provisioning profile.

IMPORTANT NOTE TO TESTERS: I forgot to emphasize that game is to be released only on iPad, and so you might have some GUI elements out of place if you test it on iPhone.
However, iPhone testing is also very important to me to see if the game is playable on small screen.
Actually I started working on SpinUp as universal application, but at one moment decided to go with iPad only because it was really hard and frustrating to play on small screen.
But if you find that the game plays well on iPhone’s, I might consider releasing iPhone version too.

Great graphics, I like whole classic/retro look. This game might be one of the best games made with corona!

I would like to see this game on some android powered devices, Samsung Galaxy Tab maybe? [import]uid: 65687 topic_id: 21520 reply_id: 85330[/import]
