We tried to submit one of our apps on the Samsung App Store and it got rejected. The report said that they want the video to be suspended/paused when you press the home button so that when you go back to the app, the video is still there. We looked at the api and we can’t seem to figure out how to suspend/pause videos using corona. Is there a way to suspend/pause a video when you press the home button on the device? We are using media.play to play our videos. Thank you!
The engineers tested this and video does suspend as expected when pressing the home button. When you return, playback resumes. Do you have a specific Samsung Model/OS version that this is occurring on?
What version of Corona are you building with? Can you provide us the fail report that Samsung created?
Thanks for the Reply Rob! I’ve attached Samsung’s fail report for you to view. Their official rejection was:
[Interruption Error] Video streaming restarts when interrupted
Here is the code we used that caused the error:
timer.performWithDelay(180, function() media.playVideo( “videos/video_1.m4v”, true, onComplete ) end, 1)
We’re using build: CoronaSDK-2013.1184
Here is the video they sent us demonstrating the problem:
Thanks in advance for your help!!
Engineering is reporting that this is an issue with media.playVideo and that you might have more luck with the newly added native.newVideo() for Android.
