Problems With iOS App Installs

Hello everyone. I am trying to implement Vungle into my iOS app. The video successfully plays… or so it seems. However, looking at the logs this shows up.

Now we are prompted to download the app. We click the download button and are redirected to the app store. Now when we try to click “install” it loads for a moment but then stops, prompting you to install… but you can’t. It throws this error.

I am not sure why this doesn’t work. However everything works flawlessly on my Android. Does anyone know what’s going on?!

This sounds like it may have to do with something we fixed in version 309, which was made available to Corona at some point yesterday. Try rebuilding your project, and if you still see this crash, please email us at tech-support@vungle.com for further help

Jordyn / Vungle

Hmm… still getting the same error. And I am on version 2_0_1 (3.0.9).

Oh! So sorry, I read that wrong. If your app isn’t live yet, you won’t be able to actually install the advertised app. Once you go live, you shouldn’t see this

Alright. So right now videos aren’t even being shown. In the Vungle dashboard I set the status to active.

Here is the error I get.

We fixed that DB error a while back, but if you’re upgrading from an older version, try deleting the app off your phone and re-run it, and that should fix the DB warning. It’s strange because we recently included something to take care of this automatically… but if you’re not live yet, this should be ok.

Also, if videos still aren’t being shown after you delete and re-run, can you clarify whether it’s crashing, or not caching videos, or not playing videos?

Jordyn / Vungle

Ok so here is the current situation. I try to show a Vungle ad and nothing happens, but I get the sql error. I try a couple more times. 3 more errors. On my 5th try I am show a video but can’t install it.

I have deleted the app off of my device.

I made sure that my application was “live” on Vungle.

I am using the latest Vungle version.

I am using a development build of my app.

Once I get one successful ad, all the rest are successful (but with sql errors).

Ok, we checked a bit more and it looks like some files hadn’t been updated. We pushed a fix, it looks like it’s live now. Let me know if it takes care of things?

Jordyn / Vungle

Awesome! Well here is what is happening now. Second time I called for an ad to be show it worked. Console printed this.

I am using my iOS development code signing when building if that makes a difference. Vungle says that the app is active and receiving live ads. Android version works completely (although sometimes after videos are played there is no “download now” screen). Next, the Vungle dashboard says there have been no views today (I waited a bit to see if it would update). Finally the version still says 3.0.9 so either the current version with updated files has the same name or it hasn’t updated yet for me.

Thank you for the support. I hope we can fix this asap!

Hi, it sounds like you’re in sandbox mode for iOS? If you’re not live in the app store, you won’t be able to download the advertised app. If you are, let me know.

Our dash should be showing views, I’d check back tomorrow or later tonight. Make sure you’re using your AppID, and not vungleTest, for example.

Yes, it’s still 309, but we’ve incremented the plugin version, so it now says 2_0_2 for ‘user agent’.

Yes, I am using sandbox mode as it is not live yet. Thanks for the help!

Clicked install and this was outputted to to console. The app did not download.
