Project list not working in beta 1.6.88

This is part of what I attempted to submit as a bug report:

“Immediately after updating to beta version 1.6.88, the project window will no longer display projects. This behaviour persists whether an attempt is made to open a pre-existing project, or when creating a new one.”

I didn’t submit this because of this message:

“Not a member? To request an account, please contact your JIRA administrators.”

I have no idea who that is, and there was no obvious link to contact them. [import]uid: 162951 topic_id: 30125 reply_id: 330125[/import]

I have the same problem, fix needed

Indeed it was. Unfortunately, autocomplete seems to be completely inactive now. Also, the new green ‘currently active file / project’ is not working consistently. When it highlights a file, it does it correctly–it just doesn’t always highlight both files (from the project list AND tab).

I’m getting no compiler warnings at all.

I’m getting a NullPointerException message on the lower-right part of the status bar pretty frequently.

I love the idea of the active file highlight. Soon there will be no more guessing which main.lua belongs to which project!

Actually you can ignore that section – that’s just for administrators. Just look for the Create Issue link in the upper right corner and you can create issues as a guest account (you will be able to provide your email address in the issue description). I’ve created a few without any problems.

Hello Patryn,

Thanks for trying to submit a bug report. Please see the screenshot below to see where the submit bug button is.
Its a bit hidden sorry.

“I’m getting no compiler warnings at all.”
Are you referring to the warnings shown on the Corona simulator?

“I’m getting a NullPointerException message on the lower-right part of the status bar pretty frequently”
Can you please email us the stacktrace? You can just click on the warning icon on the bottom right and it will give you more info.

“it just doesn’t always highlight both files (from the project list AND tab).”
Does it at least highlight the projects tab consistently?

“autocomplete seems to be completely inactive now”
Were you able to get this working? You may have just needed to restart the editor so it can reparse the files.

“Soon there will be no more guessing which main.lua belongs to which project! :)”
Just a tip. Ctrl-shift-1 should select the project and automatically scroll to it in the projects view. This is such a useful hotkey that you may want to remap it to a more accessible combination.

@Taruga and gtellgtell,

Thanks for the help! Hope its working well for you all.

“Thanks for trying to submit a bug report. Please see the screenshot below to see where the submit bug button is.”

I did find the ‘Create Issue’ button and try to submit an error. When I clicked ‘submit,’ the form kind of flashed but then didn’t go away. I tried this a few more times, but then thought that I might be submitting the same error repeatedly. I then clicked cancel, and saw that I hadn’t submitted anything. At that point, I thought that I must need to be logged in. Sorry, I should have been more clear.

“Are you referring to the warnings shown on the Corona simulator?”

I’m talking about the yellow triangle warnings in the IDE. Any errors that occur when running the simulator are still being displayed.

“Can you please email us the stacktrace?”

Sure thing. Email sent.

“Were you able to get this working? You may have just needed to restart the editor so it can reparse the files.”

Unfortunately not. I restarted the editor and also loaded a different project, I’m getting no autocomplete for keywords, previously declared variables, or after dot operators.

“Just a tip. Ctrl-shift-1 should select the project and automatically scroll to it in the projects view.”

I get this message when I attempt that:

“The document node could not be found in the projects tab”

Please let me know if you need any more information. Thanks!

@All
These problems seem to be due to us not incrementing the version number on a module. We updated all relevant modules to make sure the IDE is in sync, please get the updates.

The version number should be 1.6.89 beta. Please let us know if the autocomplete bug is resolved.

I’ve updated to 1.6.89, and the highlighting seems to work correctly now, but all the other problems remain.

“The critical issue should be fixed!”

Everything seems to be working great now, thanks!

No worries! It’s a beta; problems are to be expected.

Hello Patryn,

No problem! Let us know if you have any more problems. One known issue we are still working on is getting the documentation view to work.
