Prototyping your next game the EASY way!

Hi guys,

Just in case you miss this.

http://sketchnation.com/index.html

It is actually an app making app! You can make bunch of different type apps like jump, runner and so on. I am kind of scared on how many apps people would dump on the apple store BUT it is PERFECT for prototyping new games directly on your iPad or iPhone (iPad is better). It is amazing you develop a simple game and playing right on your device. I personal made 2 “games” in about 10 mn. They were actual fun games.

If you are looking at typical type games this app will really speed your developement. You can always improve it with Corona

Enjoy!

selling user generated content made with a free app? ingenious indeed.

I actually made some “games” with the older sketchnation shooter app. And it’s real fun to make these little shmups. But now they begin to take user content and sell them under their name? I’m not sure if I like that.

but hey, it’s a free app. so I will take a look…

EDIT: I just noticed they release the user-generated-apps for free, too, so I guess I’m sort of “okay” with this

EDIT II: oh my… now I see they are selling *some* of the games for 1 buck. and they don’t give credit to the users who created the games. uh… [import]uid: 70635 topic_id: 25711 reply_id: 103951[/import]

Actually it seems that the developer get a share of the sales. It is a pretty good deal since the developer do not need to deal with coding, apple store certificates nor marketing! Just click some buttons and voila: a game on the app store. The only thing I do not like is that it would make the app store even more crowded with the same type of games. But who I am to decide which game is fun and which one is not…

Actually the only reason I shared the link was to say that this could be a good way to prototype games directly on iPad. This of course means using one of the few type of the games they allow so far. I hope they add more types but so far I like the fact that i can put together a game in few minutes and see if it is fun or not (for me )
