Each app needs a unique ID. You can use one certificate for multiple apps.
Each app will need its unique distribution profile, but you can develop under a single development profile as long as you’re only working with one app at a time.
But from my experiences, its not a big deal to create all the profiles for each app. its scary at first, but once you’ve done it a couple of times its a piece of cake.

I am working on two Apps at the same time. I have created a new ID but do I have to do something else to be able to load both of them to my phone?
I created a provisioning profile and a distribution profile for the new App but it only brought down the distribution. It will not bring down the adhoc distribution.
I am able to load the new one with my old adhoc distribution from my last app but can’t load the other.
