publish an old app under a new companies name in AppStore

I created an app for a client and was payed for creating and publishing it. I published under my company name. Now he would like to see the app published under his company name. For me it doesn’t matter…

But what’s possible and how?

Can we use the old name?

I think, he need a developer account for his company. Because he don’t own a Mac, I have to build the app with his provisioning profile for

To be clear - I will do everything for him. He’s not a programmer. He just wants his name over the app in the AppStore.

Any ideas?

(Same case would be, if I would like to buy “Angry Birds” and wanna publish it under my name  [import]uid: 70114 topic_id: 22302 reply_id: 322302[/import]

Hey, @Sven.Lua, I think your client would need to get the Apple developer account for his company. If he doesn’t know how to do that (and doesn’t want to figure out how), you could help his company set up the account. It might be a good idea to let him know what information must be supplied to Apple in the process. Also mention what Team Agent (iOS provisioning portal) can do, and the difference between Admin vs Legal Admin (iTunes Connect).

After the account is set up, if he can’t (or doesn’t want to) get his own Mac, generate provisioning profiles and distribution builds, manage his company’s iTunes account, etc., someone will need to do it for him – and if so, you probably want him to be aware that the Team Agent and Legal Admin will have full access and control over his company’s Apple/iTunes account…

As for using the old app name, you should contact Apple regarding this. They probably have official paperwork/procedure for this kind of things.

Just my two cents. Good luck.

I have heard about transferring an app between accounts, which requires you contacting Apple. (I know this has been done in the past but as I haven’t read anything official about it.)

Using the old name to republish is not something Apple allows, I would contact them RE the first option. [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 22302 reply_id: 89009[/import]
