Question on building for iPhone and Android

Hi everyone,

One quick question I cannot find on the website anywhere. I am going to download and try Corona tonight and my question is with the Windows version does it do the build for iPhone? Or do I need need to have a mac to create the build for the iPhone?

Thanks!

I just selected to download the Windows version and saw it is a restriction to build an iOS app with the Windows version. So that answered my question.

My next question will be if I can take a project I created with the Windows version and load it in the Mac version and build it? Or will I need to make several changes to the project?

Thanks!

Wow, looks like if I read enough especially in the FAQ I’ll find my answers!!!

Unfortunately no. Due to Apple restrictions you can only build an iOS app on a Mac. However, any code you develop with Corona on a Windows machine can be taken to a Mac and used to build your app. If you are unable to buy a Mac, we recommend using a service like MacinCloud (www.macincloud.com) to build your iOS apps.

To build for an iOS device you need to use a Mac or a service such as Macincloud which will let you compile on a PC.

This is because a requirement of Apple when building for iOS is to have Xcode installed and Xcode is not available for PC.

Hope this helps.
