Question regarding selling in app store...

I wonder if it’s possible to sell two different versions of an app at the same time in Apples appstore?

For example: I have a game with 10 levels. I build a version where all 10 levels can be played and I put it in the store for 2.99$ in categories Game-Arcade / Game-Puzzle.

Now I create a different version where you can play 2 levels of the 10 for free and you can unlock the rest of the levels via In-App Purchase for 2.99$. This version I put for free in categories Game-Kids / Game-Adventure.

Is this possible and not violating any stuff at Apple? I couldn’t find anything, so I think it is possible… but I want to be on the safe side here because no one else seems to do it… or maybe I just haven’t looked long enough to find apps like this.

Any hint welcome!

Have a nice weekend!

Apple has said they really want people to stop releasing full versions and free versions but I’ve not seen evidence that they have enforced this yet.

My advice would be to go the free route, and then A/B test the amount of levels you give away for free to maximize the unlock/purchase rate.

Thank you for the info! So, free is the way to go.
