Question regarding the camery usage with images...

I wonder if ti is possible to use the decice camera (iPhone and iPad) in combination with a masked images, like for example I want to let people use the camera to make fotos of their heads, so they can fit on an avatar character graphic. Now it would be nice to show the avatar graphic and it’s head as a masked image where the people can take their foto while seeing how the result will look like.

I hope this makes sense? :wink:

I didn’t find anything on how this is possible. I just know a lot of apps out there are doing this kind of stuff and it would be nice to do this with corona.

Thx Brent! Yes, I looked a little bit more in the forum for possible solutions.

I found this other forum topic regarding the usage of the camera with some code in it which was very helpful and I’m playing around with it right now :slight_smile: I can do all the things I asked about, but only one thing is not working: How can I access the front camera to take a photograph of my face while seeing the result on the screen in real time? Is there a way to switch between the front and back camera somehow?

Hi Daniela,

Yes, you can switch to the front camera by setting a “display.setDefault()” flag, as outlined here under “Camera Source”:

Also note the example of this shown in the “Examples” section on that same page.
