Rainbow Islands effect ?

Hi. Those of us of a certain age will remember Taito’s Rainbow Islands and its jolly tunes.

It’s a time limited game, and as the end of the game gets closer the speed of the tune gets faster and more frenetic. I would like to replicate this in Corona, the only problem being that I can’t do it ‘in the music’ because the levels have different lengths.

So, is it possible to vary the playback speed of sound streams ?
