I want to add some lua code to my blog, but of course wordpress.com doesn’t offer lua as a language… anyone know which one of these would be closest?

Probably “vb” or Visual Basic.

VB is a pain. I think that .bat is about the easiest language you could possible code in.

True, but the OP wanted to know what language was the closest source code wise for his syntax highlight wordpress plugin. Lua’s control structures:

if then else
for
while

etc are the closed to basic than they are any of the curly brace languages (most in the list)

There’s a WP plugin that support LUA, however I haven’t tried this one myself yet.
It might be worth looking at though.

There’s a WP plugin called “CodeColorer” that supports Lua.

Example of it here; http://techority.com/2011/11/22/rolling-the-dice/

Thanks Peach. I’ll have to investigate it… I’m not a big fan of my syntax highlighter that I use on http://omnigeek.robmiracle.com

Though in this posters case, he’s on Wordpress.com, not a self-hosted version so I’m not sure the OP can install plugin’s. [import]uid: 19626 topic_id: 20185 reply_id: 78913[/import]
