re-sub process broken very disappointed

Yes, I’m a bit pissed.
In a previous post I was informed that I’d be informed by e-mail when my game edition subscription was about to expire.

  1. This never ever happened. Ever. Ansca, your business processes need improvements.

  2. Figuring that my sub was done soon, and since there appears to be no real re-sub process, I purchased the Indie edition. No problem right? I was told my sub would be extended for another year.

  3. Then I get an e-mail stating my subscription has expired !! WTF, no warning, I re-sub and then this.

  4. So I fire up my daily build and get the “Daily Builds are only for current subscribers” message.

Seriously Ansca? Don’t get me wrong, I really like Corona. It’s the lack of process that bothers me. I just paid $200 to renew and this is what I get?

Let me guess. I’m going to have to download the stable build and re-register. Not cool Ansca.

Downloaded the stable build again and it works. Then I re-applied the daily build and I get the same dreaded error.

So, no daily builds for re-subscribers? Common Ansca. [import]uid: 9035 topic_id: 16936 reply_id: 63507[/import]

I faced the same issue, I think it was a small glitch that caused that, I guess it was within the hour that it was fixed…

I would not be as harsh as you’ve been, believe me, I was in the middle of a conversation with a client and I was trying to send them a build to test. My Apple Certificate expired and then the Ansca problem.

I got a response from Ansca the moment I tweeted about it with the @ansca tag and it was fixed.

I agree with you that it was not cool, but then I have to also complement them for fixing it as soon as they could.

cheers,

This sounds like an internal process at Ansca that they just need to shake the kinks out of.

I don’t think it’s worth getting angry about.

Adding the ability to re-subscribe like Apple and Microsoft have is probably the answer, though those tend to annoy people as (certainly in the case of the two companies I’ve mentioned) they try to get you to re-subscribe and pay months before your sub actually runs out.

No worries, I’m not angry. I’m disappointed as I’d expect better from Ansca than Apple :-p [import]uid: 9035 topic_id: 16936 reply_id: 63537[/import]

OOI, did you check your junk folder?

As to the rest of it - you downloaded a daily build - was it .649? If so, that would explain the problem. It has a problem. Daily builds sometimes do. That is why they are dailies and not stable releases. Use at your own risk, not guaranteed, etc.

If you have suggestions about the subscription process, we’d all love to hear them - just post them in Feature Requests and I’ll bring them up in our next meeting.

Hope that clears things up.

It was .644 in fact. It still does it in .652 I have submitted a support ticket as per one of your other replies.

To re-iterate

Daily builds worked fine while subscribed on Game Edition.
Daily builds stopped working after purchasing IOS Indy subscription.
confirmed with .644 and .652
.591 lets me build for device just fine.

So you were subscribed to Game Edition and all worked fine, then you had to purchase Indie and the build you were using stopped working? Or the issue only occurred when downloading a newer daily build?

Glad to hear the latest stable release (what you should use if you experience issues due to the nature of daily builds) is working fine

What’s the bug #? [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 16936 reply_id: 64444[/import]

I was on. 644 when I switched to IOS Indy Edition
It stopped working without switching versions
when. 652 was released I retested and it remained the same
Case #9128 [import]uid: 9035 topic_id: 16936 reply_id: 64482[/import]
