Reading and Displaying data from the web to the app

Hi Guys, 

Recently I am trying to have an app that is more on to informative side and I have a problem

which is, what am I suppose to do so that I can take the data from a website and displaying it onto my app?

(Something like a football apps where I can take the data(scores) from a website and display it onto my app)

WebServices? REST API? 

How should I start?
