Realistic Device Performance In Simulator

There are significant degrees of performance between the desktop simulators, and actual devices. Especially when loading batch assets, and especially when loading audio into memory.

Please simulator approximate performance of the simulated device skin, so that if we can estimate that it takes :60 seconds to load 12 sound files on a Kindle, the desktop simulator takes :60 seconds to load 12 sounds.

i would be cool to be able to see those things
and btw, memory usage in simulator and actual device is not the same [import]uid: 16142 topic_id: 19092 reply_id: 73604[/import]

Yeah, they could implement a “bottleneck-layer” in the simulator that delays execution, Flash Professional had a similar feature to simulate realistic network conditions.

Of course it wouldn’t be exact, but a close proximation would be extremely helpful. Both rendering, and time required for assets to be loaded into memory. [import]uid: 4596 topic_id: 19092 reply_id: 73605[/import]

+1, flash can simulate bad network conditions. [import]uid: 55808 topic_id: 19092 reply_id: 73608[/import]
