We have just released a teaser for our first game “Motus” and I wanted to share it with you. Also, we would really like to hear what you think about that teaser.

Update 1: Our first game as Sleepy Bug Studios is now released on Google Play! We want to hear your opinions about it as you did with our teaser.

Hi,

I’ll be brief and honest: for me the teaser doesn’t work, because it shows TOO little. Teasers can show very little, but there must be something that is revealed to pique curiosity.

Hi Thomas,

Your input is highly appreciated. We thought that we can build the hype up by revealing more in the following teasers / trailers. What do you think we can add to the teaser to make it more appealing to you? Should we add some gameplay video or like parts of a story? What would you suggest?

Serkan

You need an audience to build hype. Instead of building hype, build an audience. To do that you need actual gameplay. Also, don’t waste anytime with your company logo.

Hi Rick,

We will be releasing a gameplay video soon, so I think that should do it. I’ll also share it here and hopefully, get your input for that.

About the company logo, how am I supposed to direct people to the right spot without it? Do you think that we should use the “Who makes this game?” curiosity for marketing?

No one cares who made it… yet. If it is amazing, then they will care… then they will ask themselves “whoa, I want more… how made this”. You have only a few seconds to rope in your viewer, don’t waste any time on things that take away from those few seconds.

At the end of any video should be a call-to-action. If your viewer watched through all 30s - they may be roped in. So you need to end with a “sign-up for beta, newsletter” or “buy the game here”, etc.

I get it and that’s a good point. Thank you for the input.

Also, newsletter and beta sign-up is a really good idea before releasing the game to wider audiences. By the way, do you think soft-launch will help build up the player base before going for a global release? We’re thinking of starting with soft-launch but not sure if it would help.

I want to tell you that “Motus” is now live on Google Play for free! I’ve updated my first post to reflect that but in case anyone misses it out, here is the link to the store:

Google Play -> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sleepybug.motus

We also want to know what you think about the game. Any comment and feedback is appreciated. Thank you.

Best of luck on Motus! Looks like an interesting twist on the “endless runner” theme.

Brent

Thank you Brent. Hope many people will like what they see and play
