Removing Papaya and Super Rewards from Corona SDK Builds

In a few days from today, we will be removing Papaya and Super Rewards from our Corona SDK daily builds.

I need to know how many of you are using Papaya or Super Rewards, and if you are, be advised that in a future drops we will be removing it. You still will be able to publish with the older version of Corona both Papaya or Super Rewards.

Just a heads up.

Wow that’s some surprising news! Honestly I don’t use it and I’ve seen only 1 other corona application that actually uses Papaya. I’ve never seen a Corona application with super rewards?

I think it would be better to have TapJoy as a partner.

Hmm, I am planning on using Super Rewards for the game I am developing now. Are you planning on replacing it with something like Tapjoy? [import]uid: 8600 topic_id: 21977 reply_id: 87520[/import]

One of my weekend projects tomorrow was to start integrating both of those into new and current apps. I fine though as long as the functionality is being replaced with something better. Specifically I was looking to Papaya for global leader boards on Android and to Super Rewards as a substitute for missing Android in-app purchase functionality (which you’ve hinted on twitter yesterday might finally be coming).

That’s good, slimmer builds. [import]uid: 3826 topic_id: 21977 reply_id: 87964[/import]

I wanted to integrate them both in my currently developed game.

As there is no in-app purchase for Android, Super Rewards looks like the only replacement for it.

No matter what you’ll still be able to build with these features using the current daily builds. And the timing is such that Android IAP will be replacing Super Rewards, with Nook/Amazon IAP to follow. [import]uid: 87138 topic_id: 21977 reply_id: 90334[/import]

In-app payments are great but they are not available in all countries, so the only way to monetize is through some service as Super Rewards, Tapjoy etc. (and ads of course).

So removing support for Super Rewards is not good news for me :frowning: [import]uid: 108334 topic_id: 21977 reply_id: 90439[/import]

I would love to see some monetization options for the Android besides IAP.

Are they removed from daily builds ?

As a developer from a country where in-app purchase is not available and without the Papaya and Super rewards I do not see how to include any monetization options into my games (with Corona)

I intend to use ads, but how to give the user the ability to pay for the game and get the full version (without ads) ?

I am sure there is Corona developers here with the same problem, so please can you give me any advice what are the options ?

Thank you ! [import]uid: 108334 topic_id: 21977 reply_id: 98471[/import]

@ubj3d, sorry hearing that at first.

But the “insteresting” (to not say BAD part) “for me” is that I would not know that IAP are not available for all the countries world-wide! o.O

Do you know some place where I could check out the countries that are allowed to use/have in-app purchases?
Luck and Thanks!

Maybe someone from Ansca could put a bit more light into this.

What is the future and why are they removing it ?

A great great option would be if they integrate PayPal.

@ubj3d We are removing them because they have seen very little use so far, so we would rather slim down the SDK and focus on bringing on other partners that are better options. We are working on these other partnerships, but it will still take a bit of time. We will have more info on this soon. [import]uid: 10668 topic_id: 21977 reply_id: 99356[/import]

Ok, It would be nice though if you posted here to let us know when the last build that supports this are done. So we always know which build nr it is. [import]uid: 37802 topic_id: 21977 reply_id: 99703[/import]
