Hi @Ypulse. Thank you for your feed back. I’m not sure where you’re having trouble with the feedback site (http://feedback.coronalabs.com).
#1. I agree with this somewhat. It would be nice, but it’s also really not practical. We have to have a web based Marketplace. The engineering hours necessary to build what you’re suggesting makes this nearly impossible. We would rather spend our engineering time making Corona build the best games and apps that it can. That said, here are a couple of ways we are helping with your request.
Starting with daily build 3100, we re-vamped the Welcome Screen. See below. There are tabs that open documentation (including tutorials) right inside the welcome window. You never have to touch a web browser. There is a tab for the Marketplace as well. Of course these are just webViews to our various websites, but they are available directly in the Welcome window.
Next, one of our roadmap projects is a better interface for enabling plugins. I don’t know what this will look like, but the idea is that you should be able to select your plugins from some menu, enable them and have it update your build.settings for you. I don’t have an ETA for this, but it sounds like something that would help you.
#2 Profile customization. Per forum rules, Signatures are not allowed. Forums are about conversation and people tend to have a 4 line or longer signature and if this conversation for instance goes back and forth a dozen times and each of us had a signature, it would appear in every post. When forums allow this, the signatures frequently end up being more of the text than the content of the post. This makes the posts cluttered and hard to read. Our forums are nice and clean and it’s our intention to keep our forums that way.
I can see the benefit in maybe allowing users to hover over your name and see a more rich information card about you. That would be cool, however, our forum software does not support that and while we might be able to build something, it’s not something that would be a priority soon.
Of course, if you can get the feedback site working, by all means post a feature request and if something gets sufficient votes, we could always reconsider/reprioritize tasks.
