Do you know is it possible to reserve Google Play app name.
So for example, I release app “ABBC” to the App store, and plan to release same app “ABBC” to Google Play couple weeks later.
Is creating app (that has NOT gone live) on Google Play Developer site enough?
Or app has to go live (to prod) in order to protect its name?

Yes, you can as long as you follow the impersonation intellectual property guidelines: https://play.google.com/about/spam.html?rd=1#impersonation-intellectual-property
Even though google play is cracking down on copycat apps, it’s not an absolute guarantee. If you are worried about copycats, the safest way to release is in both app stores at the same time.
