[Resolved] Completely reinstall Corona SDK

How do I completely uninstall and reinstall Corona on the Mac? If I just remove the Application and reinstall it, Corona still remembers my recent projects, certificates, etc. There must be something else I need to remove.

Thanks,

There’s a Corona Simulator folder in Library/Application Support - I guess that would need to be deleted.

Ironically, it was only last week that someone I know was being unspeakably smug about not needing uninstallers on Macs! This is one example where it’d be handy to have one. [import]uid: 95579 topic_id: 24967 reply_id: 101334[/import]

Thanks but that still didn’t do it. I even tried removing the two folder and then rebooting but Corona still remembers my recent projects.

The reason I am doing this is that I tried to create a new certificate for the Android version of my apps and it wouldn’t let me push the app to my device. I went back to the one I was using previously and now it doesn’t let me install either. I also can’t use the Debug key. However if I create a new app, it works fine. I don’t think it has anything to do with Android. I think Corona has something cached and is signing the app incorrectly.

You may also need to do an extra step here, not sure if this will fix 100% or not as I haven’t been in this situation but can you please go to users/library/preferences and delete files starting with com.anscamobile (normally up to three of them) and let me know how you go with that?

(If on Lion you can only get to this library using terminal OR by clicking on GO from finder then pressing ALT to make it appear in the list.)

Thanks Peach. That worked for removing everything that the simulator “remembered” and made it work like a fresh install.

It didn’t fix my problem but I did find out what the problem was. I’ll share what the issue was in case anyone else runs into it.

I’m fairly new to Mac’s so I may have done something wrong but this is what I did. I wanted to change the icon of the folder that had my project to look the the folder app for the Corona SDK app. I pulled up the info screen for Corona and copied the icon, then opened the info for my project folder and pasted the icon. I changed my icon to match.

Everything still worked correctly for iOS apps but when I built for Android, I could not install it on my devices. I created a new folder and copied my project files into that folder and then everything would build correctly and I could push my Android app to the device again.

Very strange…

Glad to hear that.

Thanks for updating, it may help others - strange or not  [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 24967 reply_id: 101753[/import]
