[Resolved] Facebook Connect Problems

So I was following the tutorial here: http://mobile.tutsplus.com/tutorials/corona/corona-sdk-working-with-the-facebook-graph-api/

and noticed a few problems.

iOS:
Just plain doesn’t work.

Android:
I can only get it to work if I uninstall the Android Facebook app and login through the embedded browser. Otherwise, connecting through the Facebook app just yields event.phase == “loginFailed”

Is there anyone who can help out here? [import]uid: 108204 topic_id: 29516 reply_id: 329516[/import]

iOS fully works now. Android is still as above. [import]uid: 108204 topic_id: 29516 reply_id: 118475[/import]

Check you have the hash correct; http://www.coronalabs.com/blog/2012/07/25/faq-wednesday-your-facebook-questions/ [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 29516 reply_id: 118480[/import]

Hi Peach,

Thanks for your help! Our hash key was indeed invalid.

It appears that if you use the latest 64-bit version (openssl-0.9.8k X64) of OpenSSL from Google Code, the resulting hash key will be invalid. Instead, you have to use version openssl-0.9.8e X64 to generate the hash key instead. Hopefully anyone who faces the same problem now has something to try.

Thanks again! [import]uid: 108204 topic_id: 29516 reply_id: 118489[/import]

@TimeSpaceMagic
I tried to post text on Ios and it worked , but to post photo still didn’t work . [import]uid: 160777 topic_id: 29516 reply_id: 118526[/import]

Hey, glad to hear that - It’s usually the case on Android

@dev_wp7 - this is Android sub forum and I believe you already have a thread on this elsewhere, if so please stick to that one, iOS stuff will end up confusing people when it’s in Android threads  [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 29516 reply_id: 118638[/import]

@dev_wp7 - I think you may be misconstruing my tone, sometimes text isn’t the most expressive means of communication.

Regardless, this sub forum is for Android only - if you post is not *exclusively* about Android you need to post in Developer Support or the like because in the future when others skim the thread there can be confusion. We try to keep a clean forum so I’m sorry if you are offended but you still need to post in the appropriate sub forum just to keep it clean - that is also why we need people to stick to threads, because you spread it out otherwise and it gets messy and hard to keep track of.

I assure you am not being at all “aggressive”, just keeping to our guidelines which you can review here; http://developer.coronalabs.com/forum/2011/05/05/forum-rules-and-guidelines
