[RESOLVED] gif transparency

Hi there,

I just moved here from Titanium, and must say - soooo much faster and stable framework

The app I’m doing is a business app that loads dynamic data from a site, most of the data is saved as transparent .gif’s. Since it’s public goverment data I have acces to, I have no way of controlling the output format.

When I loade up the images using dislpay.loadeRemoteImage the gif displays as expected - however it has lost the transparent background. I have attached a sampel file.

So my question is, is there any way to preserve the transparency when loading it up in the app ?

Hoping to hear from you.

Hi Thomas,

Welcome to Corona! The image (attachment) isn’t linking up, so can you please e-mail it to me so I can view it? brent (at) coronalabs (dot) com.

I just tested a transparent GIF on my system and it works fine (transparency maintained). So, maybe there’s something in the way these images you’re accessing are saved/stored. I might be able to determine so when I see the file.

Best regards,

Brent Sorrentino

The issue has been resolved,

It turns out it’s an issue that only occourse in the Windows simulator ( ver.1137) - on the device it runs smoothly and as expected.

Thank you to Brent for helping out !
