I just noticed my new app has no sound on an iPad4 with iOS7. iPad2 is working normally.
Is this a known issue? And if so, what can I do to fix it?
I used a daily build 122x I think.
Thank you for your help!

I just found out that none of my apps are having sound with an iPad4 and the newest iOS7 version.
This seems to be a general problem. … can anybody confirm this with his Corona app maybe?
I now wonder if I should update to the newest XCode to build for iOS7 directly or how I can fix this?
Best,
Daniela
Update: I just installed the new XCode and used Corona build 2013.1244 for testing it again… same problem… no sound at all. Then I tried other apps (not from me) like for example “The Lost City” which was build with Corona… same result: No Sound. I tried some more apps I thought they were build using Corona with the same result.
Because everything seems like a Corona problem I filed a bug report. Case 27324
I really hope this can be fixed soon, because apps without sound are not very attractive to the users
Anyone here who has checked this issue with his own apps yet!???
Hi Daniela,
From the other thread, you mentioned that your iPad 2 is running iOS 6. Do you happen to have another device to test on besides the iPad 2 and iPad 4? I’m wondering whether it’s a iPad 4 generation issue, an issue with your particular iPad 4, or iOS 7?
Do you get sound on your iPad 4 from other apps (music player, non-Corona games)?
I have iOS 7 on two of my devices, and sounds are playing just fine for all of my apps.
I’ve tested my own Corona apps on an iPad 4 (iOS 7.0.2) and they all have sound. I also downloaded Lost City and it works just fine.
Have you tried to do a Factory Reset on your iPad? (Settings->General->Reset->Erase All Content and Settings)
Make a backup before you do this, however don’t restore the backup. After the reset, download Lost City and see if sound has returned.
I had sound with the first iOS7 releases, but it seems with version 7.0.3 it’s gone.
And it looks only Corona apps are affected. Everything else is working normal and has sound… meaning other apps have sound.
Can anyone test this or confirm this please?
I did a ground up check now with reseting to factory settings with iOS 7.0.3 and still had the problem… which led me to look into all the settings. I noticed the side slider button of the device was set to NO SOUND and my kids enabled the button :(… but what was strange… the no sound seamed only to affect the Corona apps. I had a lot of other apps tested and the sound was working normally which let me to the conclusion that something with Corona is causing the problem.
No wonder no one could confirm this
Thx!
@daniela: damn! I was going to suggest that ages ago but i didn’t want to appear to be stating the obvious.
Don’t worry, that has burned a few of us during development I’m sure.
Happy coding!
Thx
