[Resolved] Question about Docs 1

For the Shape property of the addbody method, it says the following in the Docs-
The coordinates must be defined in clockwise order, and the resulting shape must be convex-only. (Physics assume the 0,0 point of an object, is the center of the object. A negative-x will be to the left of object’s center and a negative-y will be top of object’s center.)

Im a little unclear as to what that means? can someone explain it to me in perhaps a different way? Or maybe an example of some kind? - Im a visual person when it comes to learning, in fact, i come from a art background as pertains to profession…Thank you!

I’m not an artist…

I hope that helps though. Or is it totally impossible to understand? (Tell me if it is, will find an example made by someone who can you know, draw. I didn’t even use the circle tool, just a size 100-odd brush ;-)) [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 30375 reply_id: 121784[/import]

Thanks but i meant this part -

“(Physics assume the 0,0 point of an object, is the center of the object. A negative-x will be to the left of object’s center and a negative-y will be top of object’s center)”

However, after re-reading it a million more times i got it. I think it was just one of those days…- sorry for not updating earlier.

In Peach’s example, 0,0 is the center of her black circles.

Point 1 is: 0, -64
Point 2 is: 52, -16
Point 3 is: 48, 32
Point 4 is: -48, 32
Point 5 is: -52, -16

(Roughly I’m guessing at numbers, assuming a 128 px diameter circle (64 px radius)

@Rob,

Youre like "genius" my friend. Even calculating "ghost" coordinates youre doing now…lol

I like it.

Good stuff. I appreciate it. Thanks a lot everybody. I just want to say this is the first programming language I have ever been able to understand. And it’s all because of the help I get in these forums. Thanks again. :wink: [import]uid: 157993 topic_id: 30375 reply_id: 122016[/import]
