Retina support for desktop apps

First off, top job with the desktop feature. I’m excited to build mouse/keyboard games.

Is there a current method utilising retina resolutions? I’ve tried various scale methods but I’m thinking it’s not implemented yet?

Sorry if this has been asked, I did have a quick look about for any info on this.

Currently Corona apps render the same on Retina and non-Retina screens.  It’s something we’re looking.

Any news on Retina support in desktop builds?

The feature request is marked as “completed” now, but I can’t get it to work. Does “Retina Support” mean support for the simulator in this case, but not necessarily for the desktop app?

Well the work was done for the simulator. I can see where it would be different since it’s about scaling the skin/sim window. If you can put in a feature request at:

http://feedback.coronalabs.com

then I can point Engineering to it.

Thanks

Retina works in OS X desktop apps (as well as in the Simulator).  As you can see from the image below, Corona apps are rendered with twice the pixels on Retina screens.  Other than running the app on a Retina screen there’s nothing to do to “get it to work”.  What are you seeing?

We don’t have a Retina Mac in our office - so I can only test this from time to time. Attached you find an image with the lower left corner of our app in comparison with some parts of the desktop and the 50% scaled image preview of the same button.

I use letterbox scaling and set the threshold for the @2x images to 1.5 - how does this work on desktop?

Kind regards

Tobias
