Reusing sample code graphics

Is it ok for us to use (or re-purpose) the graphics contained in the sample code projects for our own projects? I checked the Documentation.html and Release_Notes.html files in the Sample Code directory, but they both just redirect to developer.anscamobile.com.

The about corona sample code appears to cover code, but I was unsure if it covers graphics.

I’m pretty sure your allowed to but you have to change the app up a bit. For example, you cant just publish a sample app on the market. I would recommend hiring someone to make your art since it will look much more professional.

Thanks for the reply Jordan.

I’m not going to just re-release sample code. That would be pretty lame! My app is pretty far removed from the sample app I want to use the background/buttons from.

I’m probably going to hire an artist or just go with programmer art for the first release. It’s not a game, so the artwork is pretty minimal (splash screen, a button, a few ui labels, a background).

I’ve basically modified the background of one of the sample apps and I’m using that for now.

You can use the images if it’s what corona offers. If your getting it from the code share then you would need to ask. [import]uid: 23689 topic_id: 20751 reply_id: 81585[/import]

As Michael said using graphics from the samples is OK provided they’re provided by Ansca. (If it’s sample code users have uploaded you would want to check their terms.) [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 20751 reply_id: 81642[/import]
