RevMob ads?

I just released my app (which had previously been $0.99) for free with ads in it. I’m using RevMob (as per the suggestions of many Corona Devs), but so far I haven’t seen much success. In the last 24 hours I’ve had a little over 600 ad impressions, with a CTR of 20%, but only $0.75 cents to show for it. Right now, that’s less profit per week than I was getting with my $0.99 version. Is that a normal amount, or is that lower than should be expected? Also, if anyone else knows of a better network, I would love to hear about it.
Thanks!

Actually, that is much lower than expected!
RevMob pays “per-install”
meaning if a user installs a free game promoted by RevMob, you get payed.
I usually get $1.3++ per single installation (I even got $2.02 for a single installation).

But the thing is, you need to have thousands of impressions if not hundreds of thousands to see some real money coming.
So you must make the players come back to your game regularly.

I just looked, and it says that I have 1 install. But my total revenue is still $0.75, so I must be getting something around that per install. Do you know how they calculate how much to pay per install? [import]uid: 38000 topic_id: 32867 reply_id: 130645[/import]

I’ve had great success with RevMob, and I’ve made thousands of dollars in the few months I’ve been using their network. They are pretty much the only reason I’ve been able to bring in any real money.

With that said, RevMob, like any other company, makes claims of profitability that simply aren’t true ($30 eCPM, lol). You can expect to see $4-8 eCPM on iOS if you follow all of their “best practices” in how you display the ads. For comparisons sake, I achieved
As husam alluded to though, you need enough content to keep a player coming back, and enough popularity to get thousands of impressions. Another important point to make is that new users are more profitable than existing ones. The more users play and get used to the RevMob ads, the more they will simply decline them or ignore the suggested apps.

For existing users you can expect to make about $20 per 4,000 impressions on an average day.
For new users you can expect to make about $45 per 4,000 impressions on an average day.

Both of the above assume you are following RevMob’s “best practices”.

Since you only made 75 cents with 600 impressions, it sounds like you experienced a “down day” for RevMob. On a good day, you’d probably expect to make $2.50.

Thanks for the numbers! Hopefully I’ll be getting some more impressions the next few days! [import]uid: 38000 topic_id: 32867 reply_id: 130746[/import]

The last couple days I’ve had roughly 1-2 installs per day, but I’m seeing about $0.40 cents per install. Does anyone know why this might be so low? I thought I heard that I could expect 1-2 dollars per install. [import]uid: 38000 topic_id: 32867 reply_id: 130863[/import]

What geographic location are your users located in?

RevMob recommends that you target countries where advertisers have a big budget for mobile advertising like the USA for example.

You can check from iTunesConnect where your market is.
That would affect the price per install.

(Best of Luck to you).

Another thought: Do you have more than one application with RevMob in them?

Sure!
In the last 3 months, I’ve seen eCPMs of a little more than $5, with a CTR of 17% and an IR of about 2%. That works out to about $1.25 per install. In my experience, I’ve also seen fill rates of nearly 100%, but that’s just anecdotal (I don’t know the actual numbers). [import]uid: 38000 topic_id: 32867 reply_id: 140770[/import]

eCPM is around $5 for me as well.

The problem with RevMob is that the fill rate is virtually 100%, but that’s because they will dish up low paying installs (as low as 2 cents) when they don’t have anything else. They don’t give you a way to set a minimum standard of performance and backfill with another ad network.

I agree… I would love to be able to put in an ad for one of my apps if RevMob was going to pay less than 70 cents per install! [import]uid: 38000 topic_id: 32867 reply_id: 141754[/import]
