Revmob, Build 1063+, And Uuids

For iOS, Corona build 1063 and later no longer returns UUID for system.getInfo( “deviceID” ), but instead, it returns the MD5-hashed MAC address.

I believe the RevMob SDK uses system.getInfo( “deviceID” ), so do builds 1063+ break RevMob on iOS?

I’ve sent an email about this issue to Revmob, and I’m waiting for a response from them.

I’ll update this thread once I get one.

Here’s the response I got from Revmob

Hi Ingemar,

Don’t worry, we have it all under control. We are finishing the new version of the SDK which corrects that and uses only the MAC address. It will be released soon. Please make sure to upgrade when we do it.

We’ll send an e-mail to our publishers when it launches

Hope it does not take long to RevMob to release the new sdk…

Two words. When ?

Just an update for everybody on this thread.

Revmob SDK 5.1.0 has been released which takes care of the UDID issues in older versions.

HI Paulo:

I just update the app with RevMob SDK 5.1.0 and put them on the market

Should I update to RevMob 5.2.0 right now?

Thanks Paulo.

I assume that even though RevMob SDK 5.2.0 (using IDFA) is now out, that 5.1.0 (using md5-hashed mac address), and older RevMob SDKs pre-5.1.0 (using UDID) will all still work?

Paulo… I also asked this in the other thread… but what happens if we go with Corona 1095 and RevMob 5.2… and the app runs on a device with IOS 5… ? Can you confirm it will fall back to MAC hash… At a glance it apperas you guys are going with new IDFA if build is > 1095… and thats only supported in IOS 6 yes? But my app built with Corona v 1095 could be run on an IOS 5 device

Cheers

I currently have an app using RevMob 5.1.0 in the iOS App Store and no installs are tracking, even though I get several hundred clicks per day.  I suspect that 5.1.0 is broken. I will update to 5.2.0, but need to wait for Apple approval. Can someone from RevMob confirm that 5.1.0 is broken?  And will we get credited later?

I am not using v5.1 but Tom Bladko in Facebook said that he had to reset his ID in order to his revmob v5.2 works properly. I don’t know if this is the case for you…

Hi Poon :

Do not using 5.1.0 please use > 5.2.0 and corona daily build > 1095 …

I also do the same stupid job , upgrade all my apps to 5.1.0.  , that’s too bad …

yeah it worked but only for 0.03$ installs ;/
