Roadmap or planned Features?

I am at the moment prototyping some code in Corona+Lua and Cocos2d+ObjectiveC as well, just to get an idea what i like more and where my future coding for the iPhone will take place.

Do you have anything you could already say about a future roadmap or further planned features of your project? For me it is especially interesting which of the already available Cocos2d Gfx-Features Corona is planning to to as well, and maybe which in addition ;-).

Maybe you could already answer at least a little part of it for all of us. Thx!

Hi,
Could really do with a roadmap, like Watervale, I am playing with both, not a full time coder so, really need to decide which way to go, corona is great and lua easy to get into, but need to know when the full iphone features will be supported for testing and when a compiler solution is going to be ready,

Just an idea of timescale please, I want to stay with this because of its ease but don’t want to waste my time if I am unable to finish my projects,

thanks

Hi,
I thinks that the 2 guys are working hard to promote Corona “around the world” with interview and convention, so have no time to work on the tool.
Corona is a great development tools, easy to learn and with great speed, but obviusly is in beta and so lack some features.

I don’t think they have a roadmap, but they will implement new feature day by day without a “line”. As you know isn’t simply trasform “cocoa” to “lua” in a single day but it’s necessary some days to made a usable build: maybe is this the reason for thei silence.

By the way, I think that we can expected the news beta (0.4) before the end of september.

But, please, Corona guys, let’s inform us about Corona status, maybe only with a single post or some reserved news: we depend all from your month

Now some little request (sorry if are just inside the tool)

  • Template (like Navigation-based, Tab bar Application, Utility Application)
  • Widget (like slider, dialog box, progress bar and so on)
  • More examples

Sorry about the long post and for my english.

Ciao
Ale

There’s now a roadmap of sorts in that chart on the front of the developer site; once we clear up those two “Q4” features remaining, we’ll try to give a longer-term perspective. [import]uid: 3007 topic_id: 108 reply_id: 422[/import]

Roadmap Published

Am happy to announce that we published our roadmap and you can see it at Roadmap

Please not this is a first pass and we are going to drill down even further.

One thing I would like to hear from you is what *your favorite* feature is and how soon you would like to see it. You can send us email at support@anscamobile.com and we will start tallying up the request and move features around.

What is this Corona Game Editition??? [import]uid: 5712 topic_id: 108 reply_id: 1823[/import]

Good question!

I’m writing a blog entry to talk about that, but the short answer is that the Game Edition contains added features that ONLY game developers need, such as the physics engine. Beta releases will begin as soon as our physics API stabilizes.

All current Corona subscribers, and everyone who signs up during this introductory period (still just $99), will also receive Game Edition at no additional cost, as our thanks for being an early adopter of Corona. This offer will end when SDK 2.0 is out of beta, which is scheduled for later this quarter. [import]uid: 3007 topic_id: 108 reply_id: 1844[/import]

I see no reason for seperating the SDK but hey, that’s my personal view of things. Anyway, thanks for the info. [import]uid: 5712 topic_id: 108 reply_id: 1849[/import]
