Rotation based on a touch event?

I am trying to make an app that involves the ability to spin a gear using a touch event. I want it to accurately follow the touch no matter which way it spins the gear (clockwise or counter-clockwise), and to keep spinning with a angular decay rate (which I pretty sure I can figure out).

I have been playing with it on my own, and scouring the corona tuts, libraries, forums, ect. to see if my questions had already been takin care of, but I have had no luck. I just started learning Corona last week, so I don’t know if it’s just something I am missing, or if it’s just a easy problem where the solution is just escaping me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It took a while, but I found a forum that helped me find the answer.

For anyone who would have been wondering the same thing.
