Running on ubuntu

Getting Started Newbie Questions

Hello,

I’m using ubuntu, and launched corona with WINE (Windows Emulator) 

all looks good, but while i’m compiling  i’m getting the following error: Build Error #5 (null)

could you suggest me ideas to resolve this issue ?

Corona SDK is not supported on Ubuntu under Wine.  It needs access to the Java SDK which I don’t think Wine exposes to your app (speculating on that bit).

you right i’v saw the JDK error therefore  i installed JDK (windows version [a.k.a exe installer])  with WINE.

i don’t have any problem with running the emulator, just compiling…and then the #5 error is raised [i also noticed it’s a common issue for windows users]…
