Samsung Galaxy Ace

Hi all, just bought a new Samsung Galaxy Ace as a test device based on the fact it seemed speedy and ran a compatible version of Android (2.2) but having got it home and tried a few installs of things none of which are compatible with this handset using the latest builds of Corona.

I’m not entirely sure what market Corona is aimed at but this is the second Android phone I’ve got thats been super-seeded by updates, the last being Android 2.1 incompatibility.

All I want is a simple Android device on pay-as-you-go to test apps on, I thought i’d achieved that with the Ace but thats now £200 wasted…

Please can we have some better support for Android devices, I only want to create a 2D game or two, not a 3D epic

Looks like the Ace is an ARMv6 device which as you say, isnt supported anymore… :S Any chance of taking it back? [import]uid: 8600 topic_id: 9308 reply_id: 33971[/import]

Hi, i have same problem. I have bought Samsung Galaxy Ace especially for development, but when i compile and install my application into that device i get error from device and my application closed. This device based on Qualcomm MSM7227 chipset which has:
CPU - Options include single-core Scorpion CPU up to 1GHz and single-core ARM11 CPU up to 600MHz by official Qualcomm specification.
And have Android 2.3.3. so i cannot understand why my application crashed when started. I try start simple application with one lable or image on screen. [import]uid: 55839 topic_id: 9308 reply_id: 63711[/import]
