Saving masked image

I have been working abit on creating a function that crops a image and the saves it. Working good so far, but if I want say rounded corners or any other shape than square it gets saved with a background.

So is there at the moment any way to save a png file of a masked image and keep the alpha? So when I take it back in the area masked out will be transparent? [import]uid: 17969 topic_id: 26179 reply_id: 326179[/import]

This isn’t possible right now as images are always saved as JPG. [import]uid: 52491 topic_id: 26179 reply_id: 106213[/import]

Do you know if there are any plans for fixing this? Else I need to start looking at how to go around or make it look good with square images… I always end up making things where I hit a wall and things not working or supported  [import]uid: 17969 topic_id: 26179 reply_id: 106270[/import]

I would encourage you to post it in the Feature Request sub forum, that way others can add their +1s.

We are hoping for a voting system on features in the near future which will also help with things like this.
