Shaders

I have purchased Corona and really enjoy the feature set of Corona and the scripting language support. But coming from a development background in OpenGL ES 2.0 I find it extremely limiting (read: not a viable solution for any game/app I write) without support for shaders. I find they are sometimes the only way I can achieve the effects I want at the speeds I need.

Since I am new and don’t know much about Corona, is the Corona backend OpenGL ES 1.1 or 2.0 or does it support a dual rendering path depending on the hardware?

I see OpenGL Shaders are on the roadmap for Q3 so hopefully very soon! This will really allow for some great effects. Hopefully we can write our own shaders and not just ones that are supplied. Any thoughts?
