I have purchased Corona and really enjoy the feature set of Corona and the scripting language support. But coming from a development background in OpenGL ES 2.0 I find it extremely limiting (read: not a viable solution for any game/app I write) without support for shaders. I find they are sometimes the only way I can achieve the effects I want at the speeds I need.
Since I am new and don’t know much about Corona, is the Corona backend OpenGL ES 1.1 or 2.0 or does it support a dual rendering path depending on the hardware?
