Shiftcorder - The voice recorder you didn't know you needed

Shiftcorder is not like any other voice recording app. It does not keep all of the recording. In fact, it is constantly throwing away recorded audio.
Why? Shiftcorder is for capturing moments in time. Those precious moments where ‘you just had to be there’ can now be saved.
My app can be constantly recording audio but will not take up your device’s memory. When you hear something funny, or important, just hit save and the last 30 seconds of audio are now preserved.

I love the Corona community. Everyone is so helpful on the forums. The developers work hard. Thanks Ansca!

Very nicely done. I took the third code: 7X69WYEHLLRY I’ll be recommending this to a friend of mine who recently asked for this exact functionality. (I won’t tell him where to find these promo codes, though. hehe)

Question for you, though…how did you get the device IP for the Network Share feature (if you don’t mind my asking)? [import]uid: 21712 topic_id: 15861 reply_id: 58748[/import]

Nice idea  [import]uid: 84637 topic_id: 15861 reply_id: 58761[/import]

Thanks for the great feedback everyone!
I talk a little about how I get the IP in this post:

That’s really great in some aspects!

I need a lot of spontaneous recordings for one of my app ideas - now I have the perfect tool to take it! Thank you very much!

BTW: I found some strange things:

  • if you tap on the headline in “Shiftcordings” the list bumps anyhow
  • no instructions more than the App Store description - after a lot of try and error I found out, one have to swipe left the entry for DELETE

Some ideas:

  • renaming the SHIFTs could help to find through a big pile of them - maybe “swipe right” for it
  • Try to imagine, you have to download a lot of files and later to delete it - one good thing “DELETE ALL”, another way could be delete and rename over the browser
  • maybe a small instruction screen with using instructions, usability ideas and some infos about the different sound qualities

Keep on going with the good work! [import]uid: 70114 topic_id: 15861 reply_id: 58837[/import]

More ideas:

Let us organize the SHIFTs by sessions. Let take a session name - it can be used for auto naming all the files and also for a bigger delete later. Default session name could be the date as it is now. Let the user decide between naming the files of one session by ordered numbers or the recording time. I think, numbers are better for some using cases. For times and dates I would prefer leading zeros.

What do you think? [import]uid: 70114 topic_id: 15861 reply_id: 58838[/import]

Excellent suggestions.
I also want to integrate SoundHound and have more file format options and some other things that just aren’t possible at the moment with Corona.

My development is really slow now that I’m back in school and I’m also working on a game. I’ll revisit Shiftcorder for sure though. [import]uid: 55576 topic_id: 15861 reply_id: 59675[/import]
