I don’t know about you folks but I’ve found creating the @3x, @2x, @1-5x images a pain on the PC - even when using a Photoshop script. Mac users have MultiRezer but where’s our tool?
At hawtmedia , we’ve developed a batch process tool to make things easier … so you can grab a coffee while the various PNGs at different resolutions are created automatically from source file(s). We thought we’d unleash it on the unsuspecting world to see if it helps anyone else out.
From the product’s website:
ShrinX takes all the images within a directory that have, say, an @4x suffix and automatically creates the @3x, @2x etc. resized versions in either the same or another directory. You can create up to 8 different images from the original PNG at different percentage sizes by using the up-down arrows to the right of the target file(s). Designed to support Corona® developers but with broader appeal, ShrinX literally shrinks the amount of work involved in supporting multiple devices with its batch process approach to image resizing.
You can go to http://shrinx.hawtmedia.com now to download a 14 day trial. We’re charging a nominal fee but, rest assured, any purchases will be added to the Friday night beer fund!
Given a picture is worth a thousand words, here’s a screenshot of ShrinX in action…
Please do let me know how you get on with ShrinX. My email is jon@hawtmedia.com.
All the best with your development efforts,
Jon
P.S. Although tested, I fully expect there to be the odd bug we haven’t spotted. I will dish out free licenses for life to anyone who finds a problem! [import]uid: 127193 topic_id: 30098 reply_id: 330098[/import]
