Signature

How do I create a signature for my account?

I saw it a few days ago, but for some reason now I can’t find it.

Thanks!

Hey, CalebP, click on “Your Settings”, select “My Profile” from the drop down menu, click on “My Settings”, and you’ll find “Signature” below “Profile Settings”.

Naomi

Hm…

I’ve done all that and got to the “General Account Settings” page - all I can see is “Time Zone”, “Comments and Visitors”, and “Friends”. Any ideas?

Does this direct link work for you?

http://forums.coronalabs.com/index.php?app=core&module=usercp&tab=core&area=signature

Or, on the page where you see Time Zone, Comments and Visitors, and Friends, there is a small panel to the left where Signature is.

I’m thinking it must be only for subscribers… That link takes me to “Sorry, you don’t have permission for that!”

Thanks anyway :slight_smile:

I don’t have a signature option either :frowning:

We have locked down the ability to create (and subsequently edit) signatures.  Our previous forums did not support automatic signatures and there was a specific rule stating they are not allowed.  That rule is still in effect, however, I’m guessing this rule wasn’t widely known or the fact that the new forums permitted it, people might have thought that rule had been lifted.   We are discussing what to to do about the signatures going forward.

The problem with them is that if someone has a signature it can either take up  more screen real-estate than their post or if you are in a back-and-forth exchange with someone, your signature becomes very repetative.  Your profile information is readily available and it’s excessive noise in the post.  If we turn it on, there is no way to enforce you from having really bad (gawdy) signatures.  I’ve been on many forums that allow signatures and they end up taking up more space than the content.

Okay.  Yup, the “Signature” option is gone from “My Profile” screen.

No problem :slight_smile:

@Admin(s),

Hi.  I’m one of those folks who thought the signature block was lifted when I noticed it under the new forums.

I now have signature that I’d love to remove because it mentions a sale event that has passed.  Can someone please clear my signature field?

Sorry for the bother, and thanks.

@roaminggamer,

The signature is cleared. Sorry for the confusion on this. I’m going to post some updated clarifications regarding the new forums (and features) later today.

Sincerely,

Brent Sorrentino
