Simulator crashes? It just hangs there (both win and mac)

Hi, when I run the simulator and the debugger after I loaded a lua file with errors, the newt time I run it it just hangs there, crashes, not to desktop it just stay there thinking. Unless I restart the computer it keeps doing it.

Now…

I suspect it has something to do with Sugar Sync (dropbox alternative) because it always happens with files that are synced (Magic Briefcase) on Sugar Sync. Still after the first crash even files outside the Magic Briefcase ends up hanging the simulator.

It may be a bug, it may be something that happens only to me, still I would like to understand why and possibly find a solution that doesn’t involve restarting each time the computer.

Have you considered copying the files to a local drive and testing? [import]uid: 19626 topic_id: 20552 reply_id: 80651[/import]

Technically sugar sync IS a local drive, the files are on my hard drive, only they are synced with the cloud, I made the connection, it may be a totally unrealated problem, doeas the simulator writes log files? [import]uid: 118481 topic_id: 20552 reply_id: 80677[/import]

I use dropbox with no issues. Does this happen only with the debugger or both? Also what version are you running (corona) ? [import]uid: 84637 topic_id: 20552 reply_id: 80712[/import]

I’m using 2011.704

Yes, with the debugger, I always use that since I’m still learning and I need to check errors.

I’m testing with a folder outside sugar sync, I think it has something to do with it, at least I hope [import]uid: 118481 topic_id: 20552 reply_id: 80803[/import]

Ok, outside sugar sync everything works perfectly.
I’m not really sure why, but dropbox works perfectly! If someone of the dev team wants to check it out there may be a problem with synced sugar sync directories.
