Simulator does not work - openGL version version required: 2.1

I recently deleted old version of Corona from my pc and installed new one.

When I open corona simulator I get the error:

   “minimum OpenGL version required: 2.1”

But how can it be if:

   1. I used to run older version of corona without any problems some time ago.

   2. in official system-requirements-list clearly written openGL 1.3 is sufficiant.

So why things don’t work anymore?

How to make them work?

Thanks a lot!

ShO

Hi @ShO,

Was the old version that you removed very old, as in, a version from 1 year ago or before?

Brent

Thanks for reply.

It was about  1.5  years old version. If i install back the old version and make an app with it, can I submit that app to google store?

How to make things work?

Hi @soarmor-mokot,

I think you may be seeing an old version of the documentation and system requirements. Here is the current version, updated as of this morning, pertaining to the current public build (#2511). Note that OpenGL 2.1 or above is required:

http://docs.coronalabs.com/guide/start/systemReqs/index.html

As for the very old version, no, you probably can’t use it to deploy apps to market. Google and Apple both force the industry along with various changes and requirements, and we (Corona Labs) must update our product to follow these requirements. So, you will probably need to upgrade your system or video card to at least OpenGL 2.1 and use a current version of Corona to submit apps to market.

Best regards,

Brent
