Simulator jumps back to the same screen when relaunch

Hi,

I have two monitors. I move the simulator to the second monitor so that the first one can be used on full screen mode for coding. However, whenever I relaunch after coding modification, the simulator jumps back to the first monitor (and hides behind the coding window). Does anyone else experience the same? How to make the simulator stays on the second monitor?

Thanks,

David

Never mind. I found a simple work-around. I left the simulator on the first monitor and moved the BBEdit screen to the second monitor. Now the simulator stays on the first monitor.

In newer OS X you can assign application to screen you want:

right-click dock icon of simulator, then Options -> Assign To: Desktop on Display n.

I am using OS X 10.9 and not sure where this feature has been introduced.

Hi tomek, I also have OS x 10.9 but don’t seem to find the option to assign an app to a particular monitor. Thanks all the same. -David

You have to right click (ctrl-click) on the Corona SDK icon in the doc.  There will be an “Options” on the popup menu.

Hi Rob, I only saw the following 3 options: Keep in Dock, Open at Login, and Show in Finder. I don’t see the choice to assign to a monitor. Maybe I missed something?

What version of Corona SDK are you using?

What version of OS-X are you using?

CoronaSDK-2013.2076

OS X 10.9.1

I’m using the latest daily build, but I didn’t see anything in the release notes.  Maybe you can try 2100 to see if it was added in between.

Will do later. Thanks.

I don’t think it depends on Corona version, assigning apps to desktops is system-provided feature.

Any application in Dock can be assigned to preferred screen. See screenshot:

It does seem to be finder related since you can do this to every thing in the dock.

It makes sense that this is strictly OS related, and it turns out that I didn’t add the second monitor as a space on Mission Control and therefore the option to assign an app to a particular monitor didn’t show up. I am all set now. Thanks, guys.
