Simulator login: Check your internet connection

Just downloaded and installed Corona sdk.

Trying to activate (Starter license). On entering userid/password, I am getting error 'Check your internet connection…)

I see this error posted by others. I see somebody mentioning about preferences and deregister… Not sure where to do it.

Any help is appreciated.

Are you on a Mac or a PC?

On a Mac, with the simulator running, click on the “Corona Simulator” menu item at the top left of the screen.  It will open up a menu and from that click on “Preferences”.

It will show you a dialog box and there is a button there “Deauthorize and Quit”.

Click that, quit Corona and re-launch it.

I’m not sure where the Preferences are on a PC, but it’s usually under the “Edit” menu item in most apps.

It is windows.

I didn’t find where those preferences are. Looked at the Corona installation files too. Not found anything like properties file.

I haven’t registered and so does it make sense to deregister, if at all there is an option to do so?

Hi @kshivapad,

I checked your account and I don’t see any machines registered, so de-authorization is not necessary at this time. Please make sure that you’re not behind a firewall or some kind of proxy that may prevent communication with the server.

Best regards,

Brent Sorrentino

It’s under File->Preferences on Windows.

Went back to a version before. Now I can launch a sample app. But when I build it for Android, I have the same issue. It says check your internet connection,

Unblocked McAfee Firewall setting for Corona Simulator. I still have the same error.
