Simulator moves around everytime I refresh it (Mac)

For some reason when I refresh the simulator on my mac it jumps to my middle screen. I can move it around the middle screen and refresh and it will stay put. However if the simulator is on the right or left screen and I refresh it, it will jump back to the middle screen. This is super annoying as my right screen is portrait and the simulator works much better on that monitor but I hate having to bring the simulator to thr front then dragging it over just to have it move back again after I refresh it.

Does anyone else have this issue? I didn’t have this issue on my pc setup just the mac.

What version of Corona SDK are you using?

2306 currently but it’s been doing this since graphics 1.0 versions even. It also does the same jumping on my buddies macbook as well.

I was playing around with the doc bar moving it onto different screens and eventually the simulator decided to stay on the monitor I wanted it to be on so that’s cool. It still will jump from the 2 other monitors to the far right one but at least it’s not jumping to the center anymore. On my pc the simulator would just stay where ever I placed it even after a refresh.

Edit: Nevermind that was shot lived it’s back to moving itself to the center monitor

This is a Mac OS X 10.9 issue which affects all applications (well, as usual, it seems like some of Apple’s apps have their own special arrangements).

If you have Displays have separate Spaces  checked in the Mission Control System Preference panel (it’s on by default) then the operating system forces a concept of a “primary display” on applications and makes all their windows open on the same screen. You can then drag them to a different screen but next time the window is created (e.g. on next app start or relaunching a Simulator window) it will appear on the “primary display”. There’s a useful summary here:

I have a fix for this as it seems like a pretty stupid “feature” and it should be in a Daily Build next week.
