SlideMe - Rejected due to ad network files were found???

I just got my app I submitted rejected with SlideMe. The app deployed fine onto GooglePlay. I didn’t build any ads into it at all. Corona or anyone else able to give any advice here???

Rejection Note:

Paid App with Ads: Paid applications must be completely clean of all ad network related files and references regardless if they are currently disabled (no exceptions). The following ad network files were found: AdKnowledge Super Rewards, InMobi, and Inneractive.

Response I received when I queried it via email:

Please request the developers of the Corona SDK to provide an ad-free version of their toolset. How do you know it’s not transmitting ads or private data without your knowledge, since there are many ways to circumvent this? Optionally, you may instead submit a free ad-based version to SlideME.

Yes, all Corona apps are compiled with an ads library, regardless if your app uses ads or not. We never enable ads in the background without your permission either. This is also not something we can easily rip out at the moment.

I’ve never heard of an app being rejected for this reason before. Can you tell me which app store rejected you? Is it SlideME? [import]uid: 32256 topic_id: 30816 reply_id: 123431[/import]

I had the same issue with SlideMe, though only 1 out of the 4 paid apps I submitted were rejected. Being their paid app market is worse then GooglePlay’s I didn’t bother bringing it up :X [import]uid: 147305 topic_id: 30816 reply_id: 123433[/import]

@Joshua - yes it was with SlideME (as I mentioned). Should I create a bug request for this, or is there one already? [import]uid: 140210 topic_id: 30816 reply_id: 123457[/import]

Greg - can you email me? davidATcoronalabs
I can look into this and perhaps talk to SlideMe about it. In the very short term there is not much we can do about this, but I can at least look into it.

Hello,

I just wanted to respond to this issue to let everyone know that we (SlideME Market) are now making an exception in our approval policy for Corona SDK users. So long as the ads are disabled, then Paid Apps can be approved that still contain ad files when using Corona.

If your app was previously denied due to this issue and you would like the app to be re-addressed, please feel free to toss me an email (patrick at slideme.com) with a link to your app.

If there’s another place I should have posted this, David, please let me know.

Thanks Patrick! I’ll email a couple of people with a link to this post that had emailed me directly.
