Yes true, but the problem is it would be very easy for people to not even buy it (ie. just right click save as and split them up in photoshop).

Oh by all means keep the watermark or you have nothing to protect your work.

The rez is sooo small. Upload to a file sharing website like Twitter or Box.net so we can actually see the photo.

At $2.50 there’s no way you’d lose sales by putting up an entire picture – because anyone who would actually buy the tiles knows it’s not worth saving $2.50 to have to spend time splitting them up via Photoshop or anything else.
Plus, anyone who would rip you off to save $2.50 would never finish a game, anyway, because people that morally bankrupt don’t have the fortitude to actually finish something worthwhile.
That’s just opinion, of course, but I think it borders on fact.

If you do more like this in the future, can I suggest a set of 32x32 tiles? From what I’ve seen of games like this on the iPhone it seems to be the most common tile size. (Thus the most in demand, I’m guessing.)
