Smokey Bear Storybooks

On Tuesday 9/30/14 we’re launching the first in a series of digital storybooks featuring Smokey Bear, the wildfire prevention icon. We built them using Kwiksher so we’ll be launching as an app in the Apple App Store, Google Play and the Amazon Appstore at the same time.

One thing we just considered was adding it to Apple’s iBooks - do we really need to rebuild the whole thing in iAuthor if we want to retain the interactivity we have in the Kwiksher app we built? We have some voice over narration too. The easiest path seems to just have a pdf only version in the iBooks store but that seems kind of to defeat the purpose of things.  Would love to hear what others have experienced.

Thanks,

Michael

Hi, Have you had any issue with your narration playing on the apps in the android version of your app for Google Play? If so, how did you correct the issue? Any advice is much appreciated. I build some books using Kwiksher too and my narration works fine in iOS but won’t play in the android version. I’m trying to troubleshoot the issue but haven’t had much luck.

Thanks!

Not sure if this will help, but double check your audio formats.

I have found that one particular .wav, that I am using, will play fine in the Corona Simulator on my Mac, but does not play at all in an Android build on device.

The other day I was editing code on my Windows laptop and noticed that this particular sound was NOT playing in the Corona Simulator.

Checking the console showed that an error was being thrown, suggesting that this particular .wav file was an unusable format.
